The Elmhurst Group announced Thursday that it plans to construct an office building at Bigelow and Ruskin in Oakland, adjacent to First Baptist Church. The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review said that the building was opposed by local historical groups and residents, who sought a smaller building.
According to the Pittsburgh Business Times article, the market for office space in Oakland is among the tightest in the region. The building is expected to fill fast.

the controversy continues surrounding this proposed development both within the church congregation and the surrounding neighborhood as we await the decision of the Court of Common Pleas concerning the disagreement between the Zoning Board and the Historic Review Commission.
