Today, the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight released data (pdf file) concerning home price appreciation based on its home price index. For the first quarter, Pittsburgh home prices increased 1.86%. Pittsburgh ranked 196th out of 275 metropolitan areas. Pennsylvania as a state ranked 20th in the nation for one year price appreciation with an average 12.45% increase. Pittsburgh’s one year price appreciation was 5.5%.
