Shadyside has something for everyone. If you are looking for old world charm, you can find it in one of Shadyside’s elegant Victorian homes. Shadyside is a very convenient place to live. It is an easy ten minute drive or bus ride to downtown Pittsburgh (via the East Busway). Shadyside is popular with students because it is close to Carnegie Mellon (CMU), the University of Pittsburgh, and Chatham College. It is also popular with students because of the shopping, dining, and entertainment options. It is also popular with artists. It is home to two(?) arts festivals in August.
