Moving forward with my plans for Pittsburgh Homes Daily

Darren Rowse over at ProBlogger is encouraging those who blog to set their blogging goals.  While I would hardly call myself a pro blogger, it’s something I follow to get ideas and see what other bloggers are doing.  So here are mine:

1.  To complete my thirty neighborhoods in thirty days quest.  On June 1st, I pledged to write about one Pittsburgh community every day for the month of June.  For those who have been following closely, I have currently posted about Shadyside, Highland Park, and Fox Chapel.  That’s three neighborhoods in four days (my wife swiped my laptop looking for homes one evening and wouldn’t return it).  I’ll try to make up that missing report over the next week.

2.  I would like to have a successful second chance home selling campaign in July.  We all know that spring is the time when the most home buyers are shopping around.  So to help find buyers for great homes that slipped through the cracks, I thought I’d give these homes some free advertising.  Roughly, any real estate agent, Realtor, or FSBO seller with a home on the market in the Pittsburgh or Western Pennsylvania area can submit the webpage address for their listing to me by email and I will select the home that I like the best and blog about it.  Every day, I will blog about the home that I like the best that I received on the previous day.  If it is a success, I will do it on a daily basis.  More rules and information will follow.

3.  To create a community here at Pittsburgh Homes Daily.  In August (or earlier if there is demand), I am going to set up a discussion forum where buyers, sellers, new homeowners, etc., in the Pittsburgh area can meet others and share information.

4.  To complete my list of real estate related blogs by state.  I had thought that there was only one other blog in the Pittsburgh area that was real estate related.  It turns out that there was another one.  I’m working on the list in other states as well so that buyers moving to a new area can find real estate blogs about the new area.  You’ll find the real estate blog list link under my “About Me” link.

5. To maintain and grow traffic to this blog.  Last week, over 200 new visitors enjoyed Pittsburgh Homes Daily.  It’s Monday and I’m hoping to set a new record this week.

6. On the more technical side, I need to fix the glitch in my Trulia javascript that causes it occasionally not to load or to slow the loading of the page.  Sorry about that!

You have a nice blog and your goals are stated very clearly. I wish you all the best for them. I guess that in the coming days, we will see more serious real estate blogs like this one.
