Bar study continues with reckless abandon for me! The exam is two weeks from today. Here is the news I’ve missed while I’ve been busy:
Pittsburgh will shine tonight: Businesses, particularly those visible from the stadium, have been asked to keep their lights on in exterior windows for the All-Star Game tonight.
There is a map of historical baseball sites around Pittsburgh, from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. If your interest isn’t limited to baseball history, you can also learn about the history of the Post-Gazette building.
In a story covered by three different papers, consultants noted the growth in downtown housing in Pittsburgh. However, they also remarked that Pittsburgh’s stagnant population poses problems for attracting businesses to the region, but the city still has a few attractive qualities and growth is starting to improve.
RiverParc was chosen for the Cultural District Riverfront Development by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. Looks artsy to me from a rendition in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, but it has a nice riverfront area. It was also covered by the Pittsburgh Business Times and the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, which also has a story about using the arts as a catalyst for growth.
The Penguins are reviewing offers.
Finally, best wishes to the Mayor for a speedy recovery!
