The continuing progress of Pittsburgh in development seems to be the story after the All-Star Game, at least according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:
Point State Park is set to get a major renovation next year. Local events like the Arts Festival and Three Rivers Regatta are searching for new venues.
City & business leaders are hopeful that the mayor’s illness won’t slow downtown Pittsburgh’s development. The URA is going forward with the purchase of another property on Forbes. The project to convert the Hot Metal Bridge to a bike and pedestrian bridge is back on track thanks to new federal funding.
Jefferson Hills is predicted to be next Cranberry by some. Looks like there is about to be a fight over future plans for development there.
Elsewhere, the Pittsburgh Business Times reported that Pittsburgh is still the least risky market to buy a house. The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported that the Pittsburgh housing market remains steady.
A Canonsburg brownfield was also named a top priority for cleanup.
