Thank you to everyone who has linked to my post, 500 real estate blogs to watch, or added my blog to their blogroll over the past few days. It really has been amazing to watch as word of the list spread and the visitor count grew. By my own unsophisticated count, I’m guessing that between 600 and 1000 people have visited the list over the past 3.5 days.
I also wanted to welcome all of those who have subscribed to my RSS Feed. I doubt you’ll find as many of my posts as interesting as that one one, but I’ll try not to disappoint. I also feel that I should apologize in advance for any Pittsburgh related musings or Steelers mania that you’ll have to endure. It just happens!
The timing seems perfect to (re)introduce myself on the eve of my 5 month blogging anniversary on Monday. My name is Robert Melton and I am a graduate of Cornell University and the University of Michigan Law School. Originally from the metro Detroit area, my wife and I have moved around alot in the past 10 years, but I fell in love with Pittsburgh.
There’s something about the mix of unique neighborhoods in Pittsburgh, the amazing architecture of homes, the revitalization of the downtown area, the low cost of living, and the number of people that are trying to make Pittsburgh a better place to live. I’m sure there will be many bumps in the road for Pittsburgh, as there have been in the past, but it looks to me to be a phoenix, rising from the ashes of the steel industry. If you know anything about Pittsburgh’s recent development, you’ll realize the appropriateness of the analogy — as much of Pittsburgh’s new development is occuring via brownfield redevelopment.
I started this site in May to demonstrate the potential of blogging to a Pittsburgh real estate agent that I help with internet marketing and website development, and so far it’s been more successful than I could have imagined. I’m not sure that she fully appreciates the potential for Pittsburgh Homes Daily, but one day I’m sure she will.
I’ve been in the middle of a site redesign for a month now (maybe longer — I basically just got tired of it one day, started playing with the color scheme, and never finished). That’s going to change over the next couple weeks, as I have some time to throw myself into the site redesign now.
I guess that’s it for now. Stay Tuned. Enjoy. * PHD *

I think that you are right and that you are on the leading edge of the wave. Would you know if we have listed a property with a realtor and we want to take it off the market–not show it–while we rent it out, if that is legal in Pittsburgh or do we have to show it even if we rent it out? Thanks for any help you can give us. Shyrl
