Hollywood Sign
I try to tone down my pro Pittsburgh pride most of the time, but sometimes there’s nothing that I can do.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting today that The Kill Pit, an 8 hour drama series for Spike TV, will be filmed in Pittsburgh.

It’s joining alot of other Hollywood-like activity around Pittsburgh lately.  That’s not solely because of Sienna Miller from The Mysteries of Pittsburgh.  There’s also A Tale of Two Cities.  And Pittsburgh played host to a bank heist in the pilot of CBS’ recently cancelled Smith.  An online production, Something to Be Desired, also recently popped up on my radar screen.  Last summer, Pittsburgh even hosted a major movie premiere.

EDIT: There’s also going to be a series of made for DVD movies.  Found via Pop City Media. As I was surfing the web to learn more about the Pittsburgh Film Office, Pitt in Hollywood, and the Steeltown Entertainment Project, I was struck by the number of talented professionals trying to make Pittsburgh a better place to live.  Go Pittsburgh!
