The Dallas Morning News ran an article today about the increasing popularity of real estate blogs among real estate agents.
Although there are a number of statements in the article that I find questionable, it is nice to see the mainstream media recognize a few bloggers for their efforts online.
I’m not going to nit pick through the article, but one statement that I am very curious about is the number of real estate agents with blogs. I’m not sure that I agree with the “industry estimates” cited in the article of between 500 and 1,000 real estate agents with blogs. Just sounds far too low to me. If they are limiting the definition of a blog to what I would call active blogs (a posting in the last month), then I’m more willing to accept that number (though if asked, I would have guessed over 1,000). But if we’re including inactive blogs by real estate agents in our count, I’d guess that there are over 3,000 floating around cyberspace.

Hi, Chris: Funny to find your blog through Pat Kitano’s Transparent Real Estate. Here we are in western Pennsylvania and I haven’t run in to many bloggers in the biz. I recently started two blogs, one for consumers http://titleinsurancetalk.blogspot.com and one for industry insiders http://radicaltitletalk.blogspot.com. I’m a new bloggerand love it. It’s a wonderful communication tool. I’ve subscribed to your blog and wish you well.
