North Shore activity

Just days after the announcement that the new Pittsburgh casino will be located on the North Shore, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court handed the North Shore another victory.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported today that the URA was vindicated in its efforts to seize an adult theater on the North Side by eminent domain nearly ten years ago; it did not violate the theater’s free speech rights.

The URA had planned to use the theater on West North Avenue as an opera house or other cultural venue, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

It will be interesting to hear how the URA proceeds in the wake of its victory.
