Sorry - I was beginning to think that if I didn’t use the words “Redfin” and “60 Minutes” at some point this week I wouldn’t be able to call Pittsburgh Homes Daily a real estate blog in the future.
Yawn.

This may be the single greatest redfin/60 minutes post yet.
I *love* it.
Stand by for linkage from my own RF60 post…

I think Jay’s post which can be accessed at comment #2 pretty much sums up my thoughts on the matter.
I was on the road during the 60 minutes episode - heard a few minutes as I was scanning the radio - including the 8 closings in a week line - and moved on. I would have paid more attention if I had realized it would be a watershed moment in real estate - but I think it speaks more to the problems for sellers in this real estate market then Redfin. I have received searchers to this website looking for Redfin in Minnesota, Michigan, and Pittsburgh.
I’ll eventually watch it - but if I don’t hear the words “Iggy’s House” at some point I’ll be disappointed. Redfin, after all, still charges - don’t they?

Your level of content on the subject was perfectly suited. It has become the Paris Hilton of real estate.

It is all about choice for consumers. Some consumers want full service, others want discount basic service. With more competition and choice the consumer wins in the end.

Cave Spot - Absolutely agree that more choice is better - as long as with that choice comes transparency. More choice without transparency often makes for bad decisionmaking.
