Bids on the conversion of the Hot Metal Bridge for pedestrians and bikers came in higher than expected and the URA is looking for extra money, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Millcraft-URA agreement on Fifth-Forbes proceeding slower than hoped; plans center around having single appraiser value properties.

Rugby Realty has announced that it is planning to put condominiums (as well as first floor retail stores) at 21st and Smallman.  Awaiting city approval and the completion of the purchase, it expects that construction could begin in a year to 18 months, reports the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

Pittsburgh area monetary issues in the news today

Pittsburgh trash haulers are threatening to leave the city filled with garbage during the All-Star Game.  Now that’s rubbish! 
Gov. Rendell announced in a visit to East Liberty that the state was willing to provide additional money to the Fifth-Forbes project, but not as much as Millcraft had asked for it to provide.

Pittsburgh residents stripping off clothes — must be something in the water
