Station Square charity event today!

The Penn Brewery is holding Weinerschinitzel Bark n’ Brew III today (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette link) to benefit Animal Friends.

National Trust for Historic Preservation home tour planned in November

The National Trust for Historic Preservation will be holding a home tour in Pittsburgh in November to coincide with its National Preservation Conference 2006.  They have also put together a list of resources for members visiting Pittsburgh called “Pittsburgh on your own.”  The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported on the initial preparations for the home tour.

A rose by another name

It’s the Jewel of McKeesport, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. 
The second biggest rose garden in Pennsylvania can be found at Renziehausen Park in McKeesport, and it’s near full bloom.  It is cared for by the Garden Club of McKeesport and the Pittsburgh Rose Society (website a little out of date).
